The 2010 Blizzard Within The Eruv of Baltimore

© (2010) Photographs by Vicki Polin
Music:  Lara's Theme from Doctor Zhivago

The following pictures were taken within the Jewish community of Baltimore and Pikesville, Maryland.

We had a major snowstorm.  I started taking pictures when the storm began, and then the next day once I was able to get out my door.  In some places the snow drifts were just about as tall as me.  Most places the snow came up to my hip.  It was absolutely beautiful.

Vicki, this is SO well done! Reminds me of where I grew up: we had to put flags on our aerials to find our cars in the snow banks. I know everyone's experiences are different; but I have memories of people being at their most neighborly during storms like this. You are right. It is beautiful. And often in more than merely picturesque ways.

Thanks Ruti,
I've been homesick for Chicago lately, and it reminds me of being back home. I heard we are supposed to get another 10" on Tuesday. :-)
